COMMUNITY TRANSPORTATION FOR ALL

Our vision for community transportation is simple: you should be able to get across the Valley and across the city, through public transit, on a bike, or just by walking.

We are building a Los Angeles where you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars in gas just to get to work, see loved ones, or enjoy our city.

My first step will be to bring transit justice to CD-6 by dramatically expanding the ways we get around:

Buses Every 10-15 Minutes

  • By increasing funding, we will work to dramatically increase bus service and frequency.

More Routes Across the Valley

  • It’s time to build more Routes and more stops in more neighborhoods across the District

Complete the Sepulveda Transit Line

  • We will organize resources to complete the Sepulveda line and ensure train access across the district.

Comfortable Bus Shelters

  • Ensure that every Bus Stop has benches, covers, and shelter

Fare-free Transit for All

  • Invest more in Metro to ensure fare-free transit for all riders.

Expand the Metro Ambassadors Program

  • The Metro Ambassadors program has already made a measurable impact on the safety and well-being of our riders. City Council should support Metro as they bring the Metro Ambassadors fully online.

Language Justice at Metro

  • Make Metro more accessible with accessible stations and directions in multiple languages

Our cities should serve our mobility needs first and foremost. Imagine a city where shopping, schools, coffee shops, bakeries, health care, schools, and more daily necessities were only a 15-minute bike or walk ride away.

We must fundamentally connect housing and transit to foster We have to fundamentally rethink how to connect Los Angeles via public transit, bike paths, and sidewalks. To achieve long-standing change in our communities, we must do more to organize our infrastructure around the needs of people, not cars. That means:

Transit-Connected Communities

  • Build new affordable housing and update existing affordable housing that connects to public transit lines directly or through programs like MetroMicro

Connected Bus lanes, Bike lanes, and Sidewalks

  • Complete a network of bus lanes, protected bike lanes, and sidewalks across CD-6

Pedestrian-Only Streets

  • Convert streets with heavy pedestrian traffic by pedestrians

Parks and Green Spaces

  • Build more parks and dedicated green space for community use

  • Prioritize projects such as public restrooms, trees, spaces for street vendors, and more

In office, we will lead with equity and compassion in ensuring connecting Los Angeles, making Metro convenient to use, and saving you hundreds of dollars in gas a month.
